Ever since the 1990's there has been an increase of hate speach and hate crimes durring election cycles.
But since 2015 durring the first Trump candidacy it has "empowered white nationalists" and nearly doubled reported hate crimes.
This can be seen the day after the first presidental election trump won. Many students ranging from elementry school to collage
recived texts stating there first name and that they are selected to pick cotton at the nearist plantation. These texts came to students of color in more than 20 states.

Many reports show that durring presidental cycles the reports of hate speech/crimes in schools follow the trend of doubling.
This can be seen in Essex Westford, that has white students and staff in the majority with around 3,800 students.
There normal reports of harassment jumped from the normal 2 or 3 a week to 12 a week durring the election.
Groups which very from elementry school to highschool refrence and mention Trumps proposed policys around immagration and grender identidy.
