Fake Download Buttons: A Field Guide

Every fake APK page is built from the same kit: three oversized download buttons, a countdown timer, a pop-up or two, and the actual file link in small font. Once you have seen the pattern you cannot unsee it. The genuine article looks like NetMirror: app name, version, one button, nothing blinking. My post-download habit is a signature check before install — thirty seconds that beats every antivirus promise. The web's most dangerous button is the second-biggest one on the page.
