A Progress Checklist That Stays on the Device
A small game checklist does not need an account just to remember a ticked box. Browser storage can handle that job, provided the tool says where the data lives and what happens when the browser is cleared.
The How to Fish privacy page explains that checklist progress is kept locally in the browser. Nothing is synced to a profile, which also means another device will not automatically inherit the same progress.
A quick way to check the promise
- Mark one item, then reload the page.
- Open the same page in a private window and compare the state.
- Clear the site's stored data only if you are willing to lose the marks.
- Look for an export option before treating the checklist as a long-term archive.
Local storage is convenient, not magical. It removes a sign-in step and keeps a lightweight checklist on the device, but it is not a cross-device backup. A clear privacy note is part of the feature because it tells the player what the checkmarks can and cannot survive.
