Do chores → Earn Roo Bucks
One tap approves every waiting chore for a kid and gives all their Roo Bucks at once. No Messages step, no money sent — Roo Bucks are family points.
Kids tap Redeem in the Reward Shop. Approve/Give deducts Roo Bucks and you hand over the reward. Decline keeps their Roo Bucks.
Edit templates: delete one, or add your own (Roo Bucks amount).
Preset rewards are editable. Kids see these in Kid Mode. A “$ Cash” reward is the only one where real money changes hands — you pay that via Apple Cash / cash when you approve it (see Other ways to pay below).
Only used if you approve a $ Cash reward and choose Apple Cash. Chorearoo cannot pre-fill or send Apple Cash — it opens Messages and you send it.
🔁 Recurring chores show in Kid Mode only on their picked days. Here you can see them anytime, with their next day. If a day is missed, the chore simply rolls to the next picked day — no pile-up, no duplicates.
Default: 10 Roo Bucks = $1 (1 Roo Buck = $0.10). This is only to help parents connect Roo Bucks to money — kids just see Roo Bucks and rewards. Changing it re-displays $ equivalents; existing Roo balances stay the same number of Roo.
The bonus is only added when you tap Approve — never automatically when a kid taps done. Only the first approved quest per kid per day gets it.
Levels, badges, streaks and the Adventure Map are always on in Kid Mode. Badges and the mini-game never award Roo Bucks.
Manual adjustment is parent-only (you are already behind the PIN). Use it for bonuses or corrections. A note is saved in the adjustment.
This no longer applies to chores — chores always pay Roo Bucks. It only preselects how to pay a $ Cash reward.

Roo Bucks are family points, not real money or crypto. Roo Bucks have no cash value outside your family, cannot be bought in the app, cannot be transferred between families, and are only earned by doing chores and only spent on rewards a parent creates. A parent gives the real reward (treat, privilege, outing — or cash for a $ Cash reward).
$ Cash rewards (secondary): if a reward says $ Cash, approving it opens the old payment chooser: Apple Cash via Messages (Chorearoo opens Messages, shows the amount with Copy, you send it there, then tap “I Sent It”), cash offline, or Venmo/Cash App for teens. Chorearoo never sends or verifies those payments itself.
Apple Cash setup (outside Chorearoo): for kids under 18, the Family Sharing organizer sets up Apple Cash Family once in Wallet / Family Sharing. Only needed for $ Cash rewards paid via Apple Cash.
Only for $ Cash rewards. Hand-off apps (Apple Cash/Messages, Venmo, Cash App, cash) cannot report back — after sending there, return here and confirm. Roo Bucks will be deducted when you confirm.
