Security Settings

Controls what candidates can access on their device by default, across every exam. Can be overridden per hierarchy node, then per exam, then per student for security fields.
Focus and termination
Terminate on tab switch
Ends the session if the candidate leaves the exam tab.
Warn before terminating
Shows one warning before the session ends.
How many times the candidate can lose window focus before the exam auto-terminates.
Display control
Allow multiple displays
Permits candidates to take the exam with more than one monitor connected.
Block screen sharing
Prevents screen capture and remote viewing tools.
Force full screen
Exits the exam if full screen mode is left.
Enable secondary display overlay
When enabled, secondary monitors show a blocking overlay instead of preventing the exam from starting.
Network monitoring
CPU idle % below which VPN/proxy activity is suspected.
USB / devices
Block exam on unexpected USB device
Ends the session if an unrecognized HID device is plugged in.
Screenshot analysis
Enable screenshot analysis
Periodically analyzes the candidate's screen for anomalous content.
Confidence above which a screenshot is flagged as anomalous.
Read-only - must be pre-downloaded on client machines.
Face verification
Enable face verification
When disabled, all face detection and liveness checks are skipped.
Delay after exam start before the baseline face snapshot is taken.
Enable liveness check
Requires the candidate to show natural movement, not a static photo.
Motion score below this value fails the liveness check.
Read-only - must be pre-downloaded on client machines.
Process lockdown
How many times a blocked process is killed before the exam is terminated.
Secret code
Require secret code
When enabled, candidates must enter a secret code before starting any exam. Individual exams can override this with their own setting.
Applies to all exams that use the "Use global default" option. Each exam can set its own code or disable the requirement.

Marking & Time Defaults

Global fallback values applied when no hierarchy node, exam, or question-level override is set. Marks deducted is stored as a positive number and applied as a deduction during scoring.
Timing
Exam duration is the fixed value set below.
Total time allowed for the exam, before buffer. Applies to all exams unless overridden.
Extra time added after the computed duration. Applies to all exams unless overridden at exam or candidate level.

Questions

Questions are now managed per exam. Go to Exams to upload and edit questions for each exam.

Shuffle Defaults

Default shuffle settings applied to all exams. Can be overridden at the hierarchy node level or per exam in its own Security tab.
Question order randomization
Shuffle questions within sections
Each candidate sees the same questions but in a different order within each section.
Shuffle section order
Randomize the sequence of sections themselves. Keep this off if sections have a deliberate progression.
Shuffle sub-parts within questions
For questions that have sub-parts, randomize the sub-part order per candidate.
Shuffle MCQ answer options
Randomize the order of answer choices for every MCQ question and MCQ sub-part. Scoring is unaffected.

Terms & Conditions

Shown to candidates as a scrollable box with an "I agree" checkbox before they can log in. Fetched by the Electron app from the unauthenticated /terms Lambda route. Can be overridden at the hierarchy node level.
