A review of the ideas shaping a new paradigm

To the Heads of State and Delegations at the UN General Assembly

At a moment of extreme crisis, the United Nations remains the one place where the whole human population is represented. What should be said there — and what comes after the old paradigm?

“It does represent still, at this moment of extreme crisis, the most important institution where representatives of the entire human population come together to address existential problems.” The choice, the statement argues, is between geopolitical confrontation and a new paradigm: the vision of one humanity.

The Aesthetic Education of the Human Being

A new translation of Schiller’s most important philosophical work — a book about beauty, freedom, and the education of the whole human being.

Friedrich Schiller was a historian, dramatist, poet and philosopher whose intention, in all his works, was to create a worthy future for humanity through the ennoblement of the individual. The Aesthetic Education of the Human Being is the zenith of the philosophical essays he wrote in the 1790s.

“We call a soul beautiful when it can confidently let its emotions guide its own will, without any risk of coming into contradiction with its own decisions.”Friedrich Schiller

The new translation by Leni Rubinstein also includes Schiller’s essay On the Sublime. It is now available in print — and it remains a necessary book for anyone thinking about the education of a free people.

Ten Principles of a New Security and Development Architecture

The Schiller Institute · 30 November 2022

The old architecture was built for confrontation. A new one must begin from the coincidence of interests among nations — and from the obligation to develop the whole world, not only its favored half.

These ten principles are not a wish list. They are the minimum conditions for a peace that can last, and for a economy that can serve the general welfare.

Win-Win and the American System

Live dialogue · 29 September 2026

The choice between confrontation and cooperation is not a moral luxury. It is the practical question of the decade — and the American System of political economy offers a proven alternative to the logic of zero-sum competition.

From productive credit to the development of the World Land-Bridge, the question is whether nations can be persuaded to build together before the next crisis forces their hand.
