Toxcity In The Gaming Community

What is a toxic gamer?

Unregulated Communities

The biggest problem in the gaming community is toxicity, which can be triggered by the fact that user is hidden behind the screen and cannot face real concequences, which can lead to a sense of false immunity A Part of this is largely the developers fault, because they could easily program chat features to keep users from speaking negatively to eachother. Another way this could be solved is by gaming community themselves working together to solve this problem by not creating or joining arguements in the first place. Another reason toxicity is still relevant in the gaming community is because of game design. For example, first person shooters and other alike action games are very likely to prevoke frustration and anger in the player, which of course leads to toxicity.

Underrepresentation And Stereotypes

The other biggest problem in the gaming community is the underrepresentation of communities like people of color or the LGBTQ. People in the gaming community often use slurs or stereotypes about the communities to hurt them. Another problem is the gaming community are people of color and LGBTQ not being included. An example of this is not adding people of color or the LGBTQ into their game, or not celebrating the months that include these people.
