Pick one lip shape goal before anyone opens a syringe
Most consults go sideways when the ask is “make them nicer.” Injectors work in placement and dose. If you cannot name a primary shape goal, they have to guess — and guessing is expensive when you hate the first pass.
I pick exactly one primary goal before I book:
- Clearer border / Cupid’s bow
- More body or soft pillow volume
- More height in the center
- Softer corners
- Small asymmetry fix
Secondary wishes wait for a later visit. That discipline also makes aftercare calmer. Day-one to day-three swelling often looks louder than the settled result. I try not to judge the shape until the early puff settles — often closer to two weeks than two days.
Write down the product name, approximate amount, and who injected. Same-light photos beat a stranger’s before/after board.
Here is the shape vocabulary I reuse so I stop saying “natural” and start saying something the injector can act on: lip filler shapes and goals.
Still unsure whether you even need gel versus a flip? Start here: lip flip vs lip filler.
I am not a clinician and I do not sell injectables. These are prep notes for the chair.
